Founded in 2000 by patent-holding software designers, its solutions are now in over 200 county court, land records, and secretary of state offices nationwide including ten of the largest counties in the country. Mentis corporate headquarters is located in Colorado with sales and marketing offices in Florida, California and Ohio.
For the past 10 years, Mentis has been the redaction and indexing engine inside solutions sold by other software companies. Mentis is now focused on delivering directly to the courts its adaptive technology that conforms to how the judge, the clerk, and the judicial assistant want to work rather than imposing a system that forces them to change their work processes.
From the beginning, Mentis Technology has pioneered solutions that benefit from its powerful ability to transform digital content (e.g., PDFs, TIFFs, and JPGs) into searchable, indexed databases. Its expert system learns to “think” like a content expert and puts that learning to work when extracting case-critical content from e-filed and scanned documents for all case types.
In 2010, the Chief Judge of the 12th Judicial Circuit in Florida and the Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court, a longtime user of Mentis’ aiREDACT and aiINDEX products, needed an in-courtroom solution and turned to Mentis Technology to translate their vision into a powerful in-courtroom product. Mentis not only responded to the requirements outlined by Manatee but took the time to “look over the shoulder” of the judges in the courtroom – listening, observing and imagining. As a result, Mentis officially announced the launch of its in-courtroom solution, aiSmartBench, on October 5th, 2011.
